Cluster 1 displays huge game over Ferrerians

Tejero – General Trias City – Cluster 1 reigned over Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School in a deteriorating 2-0 mark in the 2019 General Trias City Meet mens Badminton Semi-Finals last September 25.

 

Cluster 1 smasher Jed Dimaranan started the first set landing three consecutive smashes followed by the two kills of his colleague Jaydee Cuevas to daim an early two-point lead, 9-7.

Cluster 1 continued their onslaught pounding a 7-0 run with five attack points, a service ace from Cuevas which Aldrin Torres of Ferrerians retaliated and forced cluster 1 to commit two errors plus a drop to diminish their deficit, 16-10.

 

Cuevas bury the telling blows after firing four attack points including a backhand smash trashing the service ace and a kill from Mark Nocon of Gov. Ferrer to close the first set. 21-12.

 

“Maganda yung first set, less errors lang talaga”, Dimaranan said.

 

Ferrerians managed tom take the lead in the beginning of the second set forcing cluster 1 to commit two errors, 3-1 before Dimaranan boomed a huge jump smash to scratch the momentum and kicked 8-0 run, 9-3.

 

Ferrerian displayed an intense defense and offense as they forced their deficit to reduce by three, 17-14 through the lead of Torres in a game of run after they got behind by six in the entrance of the second quarter.

 

Ferrerian launched two attack points which Cuevas ensured forcing Ferrerians to execute three consecutive errors that sealed their slot in the finals, 21-16.

 

“Nawala kami nung gitna na, pero ang maganda don, binawi at ngayon finals na kami”, Cuevas added.

Selected Trinitarians Join 8th Youth Leader Summit

Last September 20, selected Trinitarians from the high school department were sent to the General Trias Cultural & Convention Center to participate in the 8th Youth Leaders Summit which had the theme, “Transforming Education.” 

 

The first speaker was Monica Sagad, a speech pathologist, and she focused her speech on passion and self-leadership. 

 

Sagad said that if you endure the pain and find love in what you do, you will succeed. 

 

The second speaker was Bro. Alvin Barcelona with the Himaya Band, who spread their message through music. 

Barcelona narrated the life of Jesus, saying that a good leader is a good follower.

However, the last speaker was Lloyd Luna, internet-proclaimed ‘#PambansangInspirasyon’ made the audience laugh yet inspired. 

 

“Your dream will find its way when your heart is set to achieve it,” Luna said.
